Current opening: Head Chef

Description: Hotel Herrera, an upscale boutique hotel in Casco Viejo, Panama City, Panama, is looking for an experienced opening chef to manage a high-volume  kitchen operation in the heart of the city’s historic district.

The Head Chef will oversee the entire day-to-day kitchen activities including menu execution, food preparation, training, supervision and inventory.

The restaurant is designed in the style of an Old World Tavern, serving sophisticated pub cuisine prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Panama is experiencing a tourism and culinary boom with Casco Viejo at its center.  This historic neighborhood has been compared to old San Juan, Havana or Cartagena with its growing mix of nightlife and some of the city’s best restaurants.

Qualifications: Minimum three years high-volume restaurant experience and Spanish and English language proficient.

Anticipated start date: November 2014.
